There are so many ways to start a career with us here at De Vere. Choosing a path that combines outstanding and structured learning with varied operational experience is a great choice if you want to get your hospitality career off to a flying start.
We have two Early Career Programmes schemes at De Vere:
Graduate Management Programme
Designed for university graduates who are looking to start a promising career in hospitality, this tailored rotational programme is structured to give you a broad and deep experience of hotel operations, meetings and events. It’s this rounded experience that sets our Graduate Managers on track for a promising career as a future manager of De Vere.
Over the course of the 18 months, you will undertake a tailored rotational programme within one of our venues within the De Vere portfolio, receiving mentoring from a senior manager and benefiting from a range of commercial and leadership development opportunities to truly enhance your career with us.
We are keen to support our Graduate Managers to take control of their own development, therefore you will have the opportunity to tailor your rotations based on your personal career aspirations.
Rotations include Meetings & Events Operations, Restaurant, Bar, Front Office, Kitchen, Guest Services and Housekeeping, with the opportunity to gain further exposure in our specialist functions including Finance, Sales, Reservations and Human Resources.
You will also meet regularly with your fellow Graduate Managers and specialists within De Vere to complete additional development modules across other aspects of the business.
Towards the end of your Graduate Management Programme, we will work closely with you to support you in taking up your first Head of Department or Management position with us. Previous De Vere Graduates have gone on to take on roles such as Food & Beverage Managers, Guest Experience Managers and Event Managers.
Trainee Management Programme
Known within De Vere as the Emerging Leader Programme, this route of training is a Level 3 Supervisor Apprenticeship, involving a range of learning and development opportunities. This is ideal for those looking to build a management career in hospitality whilst completing a formally recognised qualification.
Over the course of the programme, you’ll work across each of our operational hotel departments including Front Office, Food & Beverage, Conference & Banqueting, Housekeeping and Kitchen. This ensures you gain valuable skills, experience and exposure.
We want our Emerging Leaders to be on track to become a future leader, so by the conclusion of the apprenticeship programme, Emerging Leaders will have achieved a Level 3 Supervisor Apprenticeship and completed internal training modules.
There are lots of opportunities to get work on really exciting events and initiatives. Previous Emerging Leaders have secured roles within De Vere including Guest Experience Executive, Bars Supervisor and Events Supervisor.

De Vere Tortworth CourtHaving little prior hospitality experience, I am astonished at the progress I have made in the short time I have been in the programme. I have already been given many opportunities to make the role my own at De Vere Tortworth Court.
It’s incredibly reassuring to be working with other colleagues who are as apassionate about the job as I am. It feels very much like De Vere is invested in the next generation of management. Putting people; both guests and colleagues at the forefront of everything they do.
