Restaurant Manager - £40k + Service Charge

Open from breakfast to dinner, and every Sunday for our elevated Sunday Roast, Isaacs is a proud celebration of locally sourced ingredients and elegant simplicity.
When the sun goes down, Downstairs at The Grand takes over — a stylish speakeasy jazz bar with a full calendar of live music, craft cocktails, and cabaret charm.
As Restaurant Manager, you’ll bring your expertise, charisma, and leadership to deliver warm, confident service that reflects the sophistication of the restaurant and the vibrant energy of our late-night offering.
What you will do
• Motivate the team by leading from the front with confidence; being dynamic and positive at all times.
• Promote an always welcoming and professional image from our team to the guest.
• Be deeply knowledgeable about our menus, from breakfast, lunch and dinner - serving brasserie classics with a modern twist - to our Sunday Roast offering and late-night bar snacks; being always ready to make recommendations.
• Inspire and train your team to deliver exceptional guest experiences, whether setting up our guests for the day ahead at Breakfast, a relaxed lunch or dinner, or attending our lively jazz performances.
• Oversee seamless service across both the restaurant, room service and Downstairs at The Grand, ensuring consistency and excellence throughout.
• Work closely with kitchen and bar teams to deliver a joined-up approach to quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
• Strategically manage staffing levels to maintain optimal service without compromising on hospitality.
• Take ownership of stock control processes across food, drink, and event nights.
• Champion a strong health and safety culture, keeping standards high and the environment professional as well as compliant at all times.
• Be flexible — willing to jump into any role when needed to support your team.
Ideal candidate
• You’ve got experience leading a restaurant or bar team in a fast-paced, quality-focused setting. An understanding of Hotel Operations is beneficial.
• You’re warm, genuine, and know how to engage both guests and team members.
• You understand the rhythm of a busy dining service and the energy of a live music night — and can manage both with ease.
• You’re confident using booking systems, managing rotas and stock effectively to maintain cost lines and profit.
• You’re solutions-focused, organised, and driven to exceed expectations.
• You’re flexible, fully available across evenings and weekends, and ready to support both the brasserie and our jazz bar offering.
